When you first see the Mirage Instant 3-D hologram maker you don't believe eyes. For __ years (fill in the blanks) you have trained and been trained by your senses to see certain things a certain way. That's why we have to unlearn about 85 percent of what we learn. In this new century more and more important things are invisible. Way back in the 20th century we marvelled at the miracles of radio, telephones, electricity and television. Now invisible messages flow through the air to our cellular phones. What we can't see is often more important than what we can see.
There are no shadows from transmissions from all those 24-hour-a-day streaming satellites. You can't see, catch or photograph (with old cameras that use that four-letter "f" word) those flying electrons -- soon to become photons -- racing about the inside of our computers. Nor the invisible rays from the CAT, MRI or PET scanners as they sketch great images from inside the body. And, should you need to be operated on with the Gamma Knife, you won't see or feel that camera in your brain either. We can't see temperature, humidity or altitude. But you see why you have to pay attention here.

How do you explain, even to yourself, how MIRAGE works or what it is? You can see it. A camera can take a picture of it. But you can't touch it, hold it, pick it up or even caress it. It has no mass. It's neither solid, nor gas nor liquid. You can't even insure what it creates. What creates it is invisible and travels at the speed of light. Twenty-five years ago, $100,000 would have gotten you a poor example. Now $50 can bring this miracle to serve as the centerpiece of your dining room table.
The MIRAGE illusions are brilliant and appear as solid as steel. Vivid colors and depth defy explanation, reminiscent of psychedelia in the 1960s.
Creation time for the results of this miracle machine? One second. Actually a femto-second, 1/000,000,000,000,000. You've got to be fast.
Is it trickery? Shine a flashlight on it and you'll be even more convinced. Walk around it. No wires. Try to pick it up and there is nothing there. Your mind struggles with preconceived notions.
Will holography break the line between reality and perception? With the right instruments you might be able to count the molecules that have constructed this .. erŠ a maybe object?
